Just a reminder, one of 5 objectives of AIDS2018 is to spotlight the state of the epidemic and the HIV response in Eastern
Europe and Central Asia, the region with the fastest growing rates of new HIV cases and mortality
related to HIV/AIDS in the world. In response to the situation, all regional networks of key populations,
including people living with HIV, women living with HIV, people who use drugs, men having sex with
men, trans people, sex workers, youth and teenagers, have joined forces in the campaign aimed at
attracting global attention to overcoming the discrimination and stigmatization of vulnerable
communities. This is the key condition for an effective response to the HIV epidemic in our region.

We will succeed only if zero discrimination and destigmatization will be achieved.
